Etsy Shop Updated & New Work

My Etsy store has been fully stocked with all available work.  Each piece is one of a kind and will not be duplicated.  Artisan, hand made work is highly desirable and much more prized than cheap mass produced Jewellery shop branded rubbish....so please support Small Business and shop local.

My Etsy shop link is HERE.

It's been an Eventful Year

Yes, I HAVE been AWOL from this blog for well over a year.  But, does anybody actually READ blogs anymore?  I don't.  Please comment below and let me know if you still log on and read your blog list daily.

A lot has happened in the past year.  My husband passed away.  We moved States.  My glass work stopped and was packed away.  We moved into a new house and my glass work was unpacked.  I now concentrate on silver work and not glass beads.  I'm not going into the humdrums of my life the past 15 months, so have lots of eye candy jewellery photos to look at instead.

And I promise, that if everyone comments below and tells me that YES THIS BLOG POST WAS READ BY US!!!  That I will update it much more frequently.

My contact details have not changed: hogwash@bigpond.net.au  and custom orders are still taken.  My Etsy store is also back up and running HERE.

Thanks for reading xx

Latest Work: Lampwork Beads

A lot of my time has been taken with custom orders, but I've put those on hold till after the Festival of Glass which is on in less than 2 weeks.  This event sees over 6,000 through the door in 1 day, so it's always very busy sales wise....which is great!

After making these eyeball beads I decided to paint my nails to match!

Latest Work: Silversmithing, Rose Cut Amethysts, Labradorite & Bangles

My self taught adventures in smithing are coming along!  I go to the local Gem Club on a Thursday night to ask where I'm going wrong, find out why my solder is melting and other annoying things that has me pulling my hair out!  My work will be available to purchase soon, please follow my Facebook page to keep updated with those details: Bead-licious Lampwork.

Learning to Silversmith

So I've started silversmithing recently and have completed a few projects to the best of my self taught ability.  I also joined the local Gem Club and am picking up some tips from there every Thursday night.  I am enjoying it but I do wish I knew everything straight away.  It's frustrating not knowing why my solder doesn't flow or how to attach a ring shank onto a bezel correctly.....but I will get there.

Custom Work

Every year at one of my Bead Shows I have a regular customer who buys a handful of pendants.  She then brings them all back the next year and gets me to make matching sets!  This is some of her work that I have completed this week.

Recent Work for October

I've been busy stocking for The Bead Expo which starts in Melbourne tomorrow.  I've done a bit in every style which includes non jewellery style beads in the form of keys to dogs to cats to Roman style.  Enjoy looking at a fraction of what I've been up to lately!  As always, check out my Facebook page, Bead-licious Lampwork, for more eye candy and updates.

Hopefully I'll see some of you this weekend!
